However, many of the other clans refused to honour their pact in the face of the massive SUNLi horde, and they turned their backs on Dayar and burned the parchments of their sacred pact.
Lux Arcana responded immediately, ordering its army into preparations to ride for and defend Dayar. Zagenda’s great war leader Foggen gave word to light the beacons, calling for the promised aid from the clans of the great alliance that had sworn to defend each other against future attacks from SUN. Together, they attacked several cities and ultimately laid siege to the great cave city of Dayar, the new home of their bitterest enemy: Zagenda.ĭayar was sieged and SUNLi’s war engines started battering down the walls. However, and unknown to the great alliance, SUN had secretly entered into a pact with the cowardly Liandri (who had pretended neutrality during the entire holy war) in the hope of re-establishing a new SUNLi empire. After a time, the alliance believed that SUN had learned the error of its ways, and decided that the crusade should end. Slumbering fatly and deeply on its throne, SUN was taken by surprise and many of its cities fell. During the detailed and lengthy negotiations that led to the alliance’s formation, the clan leaders agreed on 2 main issues: the first, that SUN should be toppled from its throne of Agon the second, that even once SUN was toppled and the alliance ended, each clan would come together to defend one another should SUN ever dare wage war again.Īnd so, with a declaration and benediction from His Grace Elric Lovell, Bishop of the Western Lands of our Holy Mother Church, a great crusade was unleashed across the world of Agon.
Secretly, Lux Arcana started forming a mighty alliance of the greatest clans in Darkfall, including the almost unrivaled fighting force of Zagenda (who sought vengeance against the greed of SUN), the mighty Fremen Knights and the almost innumerable members of the ‘NATO’ group of clans. After they almost destroyed the second most powerful clan in the game (called Zagenda) they settled in their cities, sat back on their golden thrones and grew fat off the toil of others. In short: There was one dark superpower in Darkfall called SUN who controlled the majority of the rare resources. In this article (using some slightly tongue-in-cheek RP speak…) I hope I can show you how complex, thrilling and ‘sandbox’ Darkfall was and therefore why so many of us are looking forward to Darkfall: Unholy Wars.
